Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a notarised translation and one stamped by an agency?

With a notarised translation the notary certifies the translator's signature. Not every authority accepts an agency stamp alone — we will confirm which one you need.

Which countries accept apostilles?

Parties to the Hague Convention, including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the USA, Türkiye, Israel, China and many others. See the Countries section.

Which countries require consular legalisation?

Countries outside the Hague Convention, such as the UAE, Qatar and Egypt. Thailand requires it until the Convention enters into force there on 28 February 2027.

Can I retrieve a document while living abroad?

Yes. You usually sign a power of attorney — at a Russian consulate or before a local notary with an apostille.
